Children of all nationalities and abilities this week took part
in the opening fixtures of a new ‘International’ youth
football league based in Jávea.
The ethos of the new league is simple; its goals are to allow ALL
kids, of all nationalities and abilities, to come together to enjoy
sport, develop friendships, and to enable all participants to fulfil
their footballing potential. Ultimately this now forms a ‘pyramid’
system in Jávea with the better players being encouraged
to join CD Jávea football club.

Amazingly over 35 teams and 400 children have registered for the
new league.
Eduardo Briones, from Peñya La Marina, ran an Alevin age
group league at the Port in Jávea last season and this has
now been expanded into the 4 different age groups.
This would not have been possible without Eduardo and special thanks
also needs to go out to CD Jávea President, Juan Jose Buigues
Ortola, and the Concejal Deportes, Juan Ortola Bas, as they have
given the idea of this league full support from day one.
CD Jávea trainers, including the head of the Cantera, were
in evidence at the games, and it is hoped that the spin off benefit
for the club will be the spotting of future talent for the club.
But for the opening Sunday the main priority of the league was
fulfilled as 100’s of happy kids and parents travelled home
having participated in an outstanding first week of games. There
may have been teams that lost but there were no losers, for the
kids and parents who took part, and watched enjoyed their Sunday
morning of football, everyone was a winner!
