NEXT GAME: CD Jávea versus Torrellano, Away, Time TBC (please check website)

Just 4 games to go, and through a combination of good results from other games, and excellent play from us, we now have our chance to make the ‘Play-offs’ back in our hands….

The door on promotion has once again opened for us, and it is now up to the players if they want to walk through that door.

In our victory this Sunday, against a very good Orihuela ‘B’ team, we once again showed the fight and determination that was missing last weekend against Polop. Our players battled like tigers for every ball, and then when they had possession they worked for each other in creating space and making passes that much simpler. Our play was crisp, on the floor, and at times was of real quality.

All of our team was heroes, but an incident from ‘Canari’ summed up just how the team performed. During the second half he passed an Orihuela midfielder and the ball slightly went away from him. I can still see his face, eyes bulging, as he then charged into the player that had just got the ball and won a tackle through sheer determination. He then passed to one of our players and CONTINUED his run wanting to receive the ball again. At the end of the move he turned to his team-mates, and screamed “COME ON!!!”…..This is the spirit we need to now have, from every CD Jávea player, for our last 4 games of this season.

Orihuela were limited to just a couple of long range efforts, corners, and free-kicks, and this was not because they was a bad team, this was because we never ALLOWED them to play.

Now we move onto the make or break game against Torrellano, our players should go into that game full of confidence, but they must not be complacent, they must keep the confidence AND continue to work as hard as they did against Orihuela, if they do this I cannot predict the result, but I can predict it will not be an easy game for Torrellano!
